Every plan runs Claude Sonnet 5 — Anthropic's frontier engineering model — for geometry generation and design conversation. A Free build uses the same engine as an Engineer build; plans differ in monthly AI capacity and unlocked workflows, not model quality. Lightweight utility features, like the TinkerSpace assistant, may use smaller helper models.
Stress Testing is Finite Element Analysis: a simulation pass that estimates stress distribution, weak spots, and safety factors before you print. It is available on Hobbyist and above for iteration and print-risk reduction, not as certified structural engineering approval.
Free includes Describe It, Quick Prints, templates, manual TinkerSpace, Enclose Device, and export workflows. Hobbyist adds Engineering with Claude, Studio AI Co-pilot, Design Personas, Multi-Part Assembly, FEA Stress Analysis, and import workflows. Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. You'll continue to have access until the end of your billing period.
Zero-AI workflows do not call Claude. Manual TinkerSpace editing, template instantiation, parameter edits, and direct CadQuery-style enclosure work run without spending AI capacity, so they remain unlimited for every tier including Free.
Free accounts get 5 saved projects. Hobbyist gets 15, Maker gets 50, and Engineer gets 100. Projects store your designs, chat history, script history, parameters, and exported files so you can pick up where you left off.
Yes. All plans include STL export, and export or re-download actions do not spend AI capacity. STEP/3MF export is in the feature matrix, while STEP/IGES/3MF/OBJ import starts on Hobbyist. Your designs are yours to keep and print.
