Refund Policy
Last updated: July 19, 2026
This Refund Policy applies to all paid services offered by PrintMaker AI LLC, a Rhode Island limited liability company. It expands on Section 6 (Account, Billing, and Refunds) of the Terms of Service.
PrintMakerAI generates parametric 3D geometry. It does not generate or configure slicer settings, gcode, or any print-execution parameter. See Section 2 of the Terms of Service for the full Product Boundary. Refund eligibility follows that boundary exactly.
Eligible — Geometry Defects
You may request a refund if the exported geometry itself is defective. Specifically:
- Non-manifold mesh. The healing pipeline should produce watertight, manifold STL. If the exported file is provably non-manifold and cannot be repaired by a standard mesh tool, it is refundable.
- Dimensional error beyond stated tolerance. If the exported geometry's measured dimensions exceed the tolerance stated for the selected target material, it is refundable. Measurement must be performed on the exported STL or STEP, not on a printed part.
- Failed generations that were billed. If a generation failed to complete and a credit was deducted, the credit will be restored.
- Incorrect feature interpretation. If a feature you requested in your prompt is verifiably absent or clearly inconsistent with the literal text of the prompt, it is refundable.
International Customers — EU/UK Right of Withdrawal
If you are a consumer located in the European Union, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within fourteen (14) days without giving any reason, under Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights. If you are a consumer located in the United Kingdom, an equivalent right applies under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
For digital content and services, this right ends once performance has begun with your prior express consent and acknowledgment that you thereby lose the right to withdraw. Because PrintMakerAI grants access to the service and consumes billing credits immediately upon each generation request, using the service after purchase constitutes that consent. This statutory right operates alongside, and does not replace, the Geometry Defects and Billing Errors refund paths described above.
Ineligible — Print Outcomes
The following are not grounds for a refund, because they fall outside the Product Boundary:
- Print failures. Layer adhesion issues, warping, stringing, under-extrusion, over-extrusion, elephant foot, ringing, or any defect that originated during printing.
- Slicer issues. Incorrect layer height, infill, supports, cooling, speed, flow rate, retraction, or other slicer-side settings. The slicer is yours to configure; we do not.
- Material compatibility. Filament brand, batch variation, humidity, filament-printer mismatch, or any material behavior during the print.
- Printer malfunctions. Mechanical, electrical, firmware, or thermal issues with your printer. Printer tuning, bed leveling, and maintenance are your responsibility.
- Post-export dimensional issues. Shrinkage, warping, slicer-side scaling, slicer-side rotation, or any dimensional change introduced after the STL is exported.
- Partial billing periods. Subscription fees are non-refundable for unused days within a billing cycle. You may cancel at any time; access continues through the end of the current period.
- Free tier. Free-tier accounts are not charged and therefore have nothing to refund.
Billing Errors
If you believe you were charged incorrectly (duplicate charge, wrong amount, or a charge after cancellation), contact us within thirty (30) days of the charge at legal@printmakerai.com. Include your account email and the date of the charge. We aim to investigate and issue a correction or refund within ten (10) business days.
Service Outages
If PrintMakerAI experiences a service outage lasting more than twenty-four (24) continuous hours during your billing period, you are eligible for a pro-rated credit on your next cycle. Credits are calculated based on outage duration relative to the billing period.
How to Request a Refund
Email legal@printmakerai.com with subject “Refund Request” and include:
- Your account email address.
- The date of the charge in question.
- A brief description of the issue, tied to one of the Eligible categories above.
- For geometry defects: the exported STL/STEP file, or a reproducible prompt that demonstrates the defect.
We aim to respond within three (3) business days.
